The Age of Shattered Skies (70,000 - 50,000)

The Age of Shattered Skies was marked by the culmination of the brutalities and insecurities of the previous age's open hostilities, as the Gods of the humanoid and demihuman races finally go to war with the Monstrous pantheons to attempt to spare their creations, who have been pushed near to eradication. Divinities go to open war across clear cut lines and alliances, and the scale of violence swells as the world's inhabitants as much as the landscape weathers the supernatural might of warring creation itself. It is during this time that the Sundering occurs, where the land masses of the present age were created from whatever terrestrial and oceanic features marked the previous age's topography. Some speculate that the separation of the land into continents was an intentional byproduct of this period, while others contend that the current world is merely the scarred remains of what landscapes and oceanic states must have existed before inconceivable scales of war were visited upon it. An untold number of Gods are destroyed, written out of existence and buried by time, likely never to be known again.

It is during this time that the Gods of the sentient races shared the gift of magic to help them battle the horrors and monstrosities that abounded.
