The Lords of the Pits

The landscapes of the lower realms are a churning, abhorrent landscape of perpetual cruelties, iniquities and frequent battles waged between would-be usurpers. The eternal Blood Wars often spill over into the various layers of the Hells as demons and devils clash their legions against each other with an animosity that exceeds even their hatred of the feathered hosts of the Heavens. The most powerful among the devils and demons become akin to profane Gods themselves, and extend their ambitions into the realms of the living, working through cultists and other emissaries foolish enough, or reckless enough, to trade favors and their very souls in exchange for power.
